Basic support for Ukrainian refugee families in Austria is not working. Refugees wait weeks, sometimes months, for payments.

Tanja Maier provides unbureaucratic support with Cards for Ukraine and, financed by your donation, sends food vouchers to Ukrainian refugee families in Austria.

Join the Secret Santa Challenge and fulfill the Christmas wishes of people who otherwise couldn't afford it.

Often, the simplest things, like socks or shampoo, are missing. Perhaps a child needs their first bicycle. Together with social institutions, these wishes forgotten by Santa Claus are collected here. You can select and fulfill as many gifts as you like using the online wish list.

Messenger of good luck

Glücksbote is an independent and charitable organization that supports financially disadvantaged families living in Austria.

The association collects donations in kind, cash donations and vouchers to support these families and enable happy children's parties.

The Tavern

The Tavern

The Schenke is a free shop on Piaristengasse in Vienna. This means people can bring items that others can take for free. No money, no bartering involved. There's also a small café where everyone pays what they can and want to afford.

The store is also often made available free of charge to groups who otherwise could not afford to rent the space.

SOS Balkanroute

SOS Balkan Route is a humanitarian initiative for a dignified life for refugees in Southeast Europe.

Along the so-called “Balkan route,” founder Petar Rosandić (also known as rapper Kid Pex) and his team regularly organize aid transports with donations in kind to the camps on the Bosnian-Croatian border.

Team Gablitz helps

Team Gablitz helps

The Gablitz Helps team consists of dedicated Gablitz residents and has been working in the field of refugee aid since 2015.

Since 2015, around 400 refugees have been accompanied, and in 2018 the association was awarded the "Place of Respect Lower Austria" prize for its work.

Taste knows no boundaries: Habibi & Hawara offers people with refugee and migrant backgrounds a job, training, and a springboard into entrepreneurship. 

In addition to the main restaurant on Wipplingerstraße, these cool bars with a rich and deliciously varied offering can also be found in the Nordbahnviertel, the third and seventh districts, and in Seestadt.

Dr. Adolf Lorenz School

Dr. Adolf Lorenz School

At the Dr. Adolf Lorenz School, children with multiple disabilities receive instruction with individual support as needed.

Donations are intended to finance extracurricular activities in which the children receive special support. This ranges from excursions within Vienna to the bi-weekly therapeutic and therapeutic horse training at the Schottenhof riding stables and culminates in project weeks in the federal states.

MED4HOPE - Medical Aid for Homeless People

MED4HOPE is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing medical training to people who work with homeless individuals.

The society sees itself as an independent organization that provides all the information and tools it publishes free of charge and collaborates with many other organizations. Recently, it launched a follow-up medical support program with Caritas and the Louisebus, where specially trained physicians support street workers in their work.

Regardless of whether people have just arrived or have already been granted asylum in Austria, they often lack the most basic necessities: clothing, furniture, household goods, etc.

Train of Hope has been collecting donations in kind since 2015, preparing them, and distributing them to refugees.

FiP – Breakfast in the Park is a weekly good, healthy and invigorating breakfast from 8.00:10.00 to XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. for homeless people in Esterhazy Park (near the Haus des Meeres).

FiP wants to reach out to people living under very harsh conditions and show them that they are not “the others,” but welcome and, in some cases, even neighbors.

Silent heroes

Silent heroes

"Silent Heroes" aims to raise awareness of the special needs of families of children with chronic illnesses or disabilities in their "normal" everyday lives and to make visible how unnecessarily difficult existing structures make things for them.

The more people see and understand how life with a chronic illness or disability works, the greater the chance that new solutions can be found together to give everyone in this country the chance of a "normal" everyday life.

The conditions in which many multilingual children grow up in Austria do not allow for a fair start to school and equal opportunities in the educational path.

The Startklar association supports these children so that they can utilize their full linguistic potential and begin their educational journey with good language skills.

The focus here is on the dreams of children and young people with serious or chronic illnesses or disabilities. 

This could be the dream of greater independence, realized with an assistance dog, or the dream of increased freedom of movement, realized with the help of a bicycle adapted for people with disabilities. More than 3.700 children's dreams have already been fulfilled!

anyway! Art workshops for children with disabilities

"Sowieso!" offers art workshops specifically for children with special needs ages 3 and up. What's special about them: each child has their own instructor. They paint, craft, build, make music, and play together with only 8 children per workshop.

What makes anyway! unique is the high staff-to-child ratio: one staff member for each child. This allows for a dialogic structure in the workshop, a natural "I" and "you" approach.

400.000 children and young people in Austria are at risk of poverty, generally have no or only limited access to leisure activities and are thus more or less excluded from society.

That's why Vienna Hobby Lobby offers free leisure courses. The program is targeted at specific groups and tailored to the needs of the participants. Participants are directly involved in their everyday lives, providing low-threshold access to the program.

iwik is a contact point for people who need help and is aimed at people whose financial means do not allow them to pay the normal rates for psychotherapy and counseling. iwik is not free, but it takes into account the situation you are in.

The team consists of psychotherapists and psychotherapists in training under supervision with different methods and focuses under the direction of an experienced psychotherapist.
