When theory meets practice: Protestant Gymnasium near PCs für alle
Here is Part 1: 250 computers for the caravan of humanity
Yesterday was the day: Students from the Protestant Gymnasium visited us and actively participated. Accompanied by Professor Andreas Roncat and Professor Fischer, the young people immersed themselves in the world of IT hardware – and did an outstanding job!
Hands-on instead of just theory
The visit wasn't just about watching, but about hands-on work. The students engaged intensively with server hardware and switches. Professors Roncat and Fischer explained the technical relationships and demonstrated how these components function in practice.
Enthusiasm and commitment
What particularly pleased us was the students' enthusiasm. They asked questions, pitched in, and demonstrated that technical understanding and social engagement can go hand in hand. It is precisely this combination that makes digital participation possible.
An important step
This visit marked the start of the joint preparation of the 250 computers that will be sent to northern Iraq and Rojava. Next week, we will continue with the Dynatrace team. Together, we will finalize the equipment so that it can begin its journey to the crisis zones.
