AG González wins YouTube Challenge and donates a 150€ voucher to PCs for All
We are very happy about the donation which will allow us to purchase additional PC parts.
At the European Researchers' Night 2020 , a Europe-wide event where citizens can gain insight into current research, five doctoral students from the González research group won the “YouTube Challenge”.
Brigitta Bachmair, David Hernández-Castillo, Ludwig Schwiedrzik, Nadja Singer and Davide Avagliano, PhD students at the Institute for Theoretical Chemistry , jointly created an 8-minute video entitled “AG González presents: Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Vienna”.
In it, they describe in an easily understandable way how they use computer simulations in their research to understand various chemical processes. Their projects revolve around the interaction of light and matter: from artificial photosynthesis and fluorescence microscopy to DNA damage and the development of new photosensitizers and advanced simulation methods . As theorists, they thus contribute to solving major problems in contemporary science.
