Opportunities through old hardware

The Austrian Lotteries are among the biggest supporters of PCs für alle - for this, as so often before, our thanks.

Here is what the lotteries say about it - shamelessly from their website

The Austrian Lotteries cooperate with the association “PCs für alle".

At Austrian Lotteries, discarded IT hardware is not disposed of, but given a "second life." It is donated to the association "PCs für alle“, which, after reconditioning, hands over the intact devices to people who urgently need them: students from low-income households, young people in apprenticeship training, or currently war refugees from Ukraine.

The collaboration was initiated by two Austrian Lotteries employees who became aware of the initiative through a TV report. Around 150 desktop PCs and 250 laptops, 300 monitors, projectors, and other accessories have been delivered so far, with another large delivery scheduled for the end of the year.

The activity of “PCs für alle" means a significant improvement in the digital opportunities for people in financial difficulty. Another benefit: Since the association was founded, around 200 tons of electronic waste have been avoided, as "PCs für alle“-founder Peter Bernscherer explains.

Many thanks to the fantastic team around Gilbert Scharetzer and Gabriel Thiel. It's clear that everyone involved is committed to supporting us and, in turn, people who are struggling.
