Aid is arriving: First pictures from Colombia and the starting signal for the next shipment!
Do you remember our big campaign last year? Here are the details : Together with the dedicated students of the Protestant Gymnasium and Werkschulheim, the Vienna Business School Akademiestraße, and the Nawowa association, we sent complete PC systems on their way. Now we've received the first pictures from the mountains of Colombia – and they show the impact of this aid on the ground.
These are images that touch and inspire: children's shining eyes in front of newly installed screens. In the remote schools of the indigenous Arhuaca and Kogi communities, computers are now in daily use. Where previously chalk and blackboard were often the only teaching tools, a completely new, digital world is now opening up to the children. They are learning how to use modern media, conducting research for their lessons, and gaining access to global knowledge that would otherwise have been inaccessible to them.
For the indigenous communities, this infrastructure represents a huge step towards educational equity and a self-determined future.
A dynamic project: The next delivery is being prepared!
The images from Colombia have provided a huge boost of motivation in Vienna. Seeing that every step taken in cleaning, erasing data, and resetting the devices is exactly where it's needed is truly inspiring.
Therefore, we don't waste any time: Preparations for the next delivery are already in full swing!
Once again, schools, technology, and development aid are working hand in hand. In this way, we not only extend the life cycle of valuable hardware in the interest of sustainability, but also double our aid on the ground.
Achieving even more together
A big thank you again goes to the Nawowa association , which coordinates the logistics on site and ensures that the upcoming computers also arrive undamaged in the structurally weak mountain regions.
