The private initiative #SpendeEineMaske supports people at risk of poverty and those affected by poverty.

A campaign we enthusiastically support – there are simply countless people in Austria who can't afford to buy masks for €3, let alone change them regularly. This, of course, increases the risk of infection for EVERYONE.

This is how Georg Birgmann’s private initiative aims to help:

  • Purchase FFP2 masks in bulk directly from the (Austrian) manufacturer Hygiene Austria.
  • These cost €1,40 each, including 20% VAT. Depending on the quantity, the price drops further (a tiered price). One packaging unit consists of a carton filled with 350 masks, for a total of €961,80 per unit.
  • The masks will be distributed through facilities that already have daily contact with clients at risk of poverty.
  • The distribution of masks to soogut.at social markets is already fixed.
