Drei donates 600 devices to PCs für alle!
PCs für alle is delighted to receive a generous donation of equipment from Drei Austria! Drei CEO Rudolf Schrefl presented 340 laptops and 260 monitors. Used, of good quality, but no longer needed by Drei, the devices now serve a new purpose: They provide access to the internet and digital education, especially for young people in need.
We have already been able to distribute 250 laptops to other NGOs and families with school-age children: For example, to the Sindbad Club which supports young people and young adults through mentoring, or to the Volkshilfe Vienna for refugee families from Ukraine. Also for Ukrainian refugees in Styria Border Crossing game board devices were delivered. This allows Ukrainian children to take legally valid exams online in their home country. In addition to their studies in Austrian schools, they also progress further in the Ukrainian education system. Upon their return, they will at least not have lost too much time in their school careers. However, most of the devices were picked up by families directly from our workshops. Drei also makes a valuable contribution to environmental and climate protection, as it avoids around 3.000 kilograms of electronic waste by donating the devices.
