Laptops for Nishtha: Education creates opportunities in India
Poverty among single parents is not just a problem in Austria. In rural regions of India, single mothers often have little chance of economic independence. This is precisely where the organization focuses its efforts. Nishtha an, founded and managed by Dr. Barbara Nath-Wiser.
Computers as the key to the future
For many years, PCs for All has supported Nishtha's work with laptop donations. The devices are used in training projects that open up new career opportunities for single mothers. For these women, computer skills mean more than just education – they are the path out of poverty and into self-sufficiency.
Direct exchange, direct help
Dr. Nath-Wiser recently visited us in Vienna and personally picked up two laptops. This direct connection demonstrates that every single device reaches its intended destination. In the Dhauladhar Mountains, where the population primarily relies on agriculture and day labor, our donated laptops create real opportunities.
Voices from the project
We received two videos from women who had previously received laptops from us. Their stories impressively demonstrate how a used computer can open up new life perspectives.
