Rojava mission: Rainer Brim and the caravan of humanity
The mission in Rojava demonstrates the effectiveness of targeted support in crisis situations. Rainer Brim and the Caravan of Humanity bring computers and other resources to where they are urgently needed – thus enabling direct improvements for the population.
The Ashti Center: Coordination of 30 organizations
The Ashti Center is a central coordination point for humanitarian aid in Rojava. It serves as a central hub, coordinating the activities of 30 different aid organizations with the goal of distributing aid supplies and services evenly and according to need to the many people in need.
Such a complex coordination task requires a functioning IT infrastructure. The problem: The center is massively underfunded, and its volunteers work without their own laptops. This makes their work inefficient and significantly hinders data collection, planning, and communication between the participating organizations.
We have the Ashti Center with 15 Laptops equipped. These devices enable staff to carry out their coordination work more professionally and efficiently – a direct contribution to improving the distribution of aid on the ground.
The Orchid Team Initiative: Art for cityscape and mental well-being
In addition to material aid, psychosocial support is essential in crisis areas. The Orchid Team initiative of artist Samir Kalo contributes to this in its own way.
The initiative paints large-scale murals on the walls of houses in Rojava. In an environment marked by conflict and often appearing bleak, these murals bring color, beauty, and a kind of visual expression of hope to everyday life. Residents consistently report their joy at the transformed cityscape – a significant psychological effect in difficult times.
At the same time, Samir Kalo's initiative offers young people a meaningful way to spend their free time. In crisis regions, this is an important factor: it provides young people with structure, creativity, and a sense of belonging.
We launched the initiative with 150 liters of paint supported – a direct input for ongoing projects.
The Syrian Women's Council
The Syrian Women's Council will also soon receive computers and laptops from us. The organization plays a vital role in supporting women in the region and is in urgent need of functioning IT equipment.
Help that matters
These operations demonstrate what we work for: not to fill statistics, but to enable concrete improvements in people's everyday lives. A functioning coordination center means better distribution of aid. Paint on the walls means hope in difficult times. Computers mean the ability to act.
