Ute Bock Prize awarded to Oleg Cherednychenko

At 82, Oleg performs more than a full-time job every day. His life has been full of twists and turns: born in Germany, raised in Ukraine, he worked in nuclear power plants, studied IT, and was a military pilot. In 2022, he had to flee Ukraine with his wife and grandchildren. Today, he lives in a refugee shelter in Vienna – and has been tirelessly involved with the association for four years. PCs für alle.
Almost every day, from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m., Oleg is on duty: He receives donated equipment, distributes it to those in need, translates for Ukrainian refugees, accompanies them to doctor's appointments and meetings with authorities, and teaches German. This is real work – voluntary, unpaid, and done out of deep conviction.
A noteworthy finding from the Ministry of Social Affairs last year is: The voluntary work of PCs für alle"It's not worth a cent," they decided there.
The Ute Bock Prize sees things differently. Last year, Shaher received the award from the association. PCs für alle this award. Shaher - Ute Bock Prize 2025 Now comes Oleg – proof that the prize goes where true humanity counts.
