The association was founded in May 2020, and we really started working in September 2020 when, thanks to the SPÖ Landstraße, we were able to move into our first workshop.

A lot has happened since then – we now have two workshops, at one point even three, still around 30 volunteers (the team) , have given away over 13.000 PCs and laptops to people who can't afford them, and repurpose around 200 tons of what would otherwise be electronic waste. How do I arrive at 200 tons? Because every PC naturally needs a monitor, cables, keyboard, and mouse, and every laptop needs a power adapter.

We are currently training three interns; in total, seven young people have had the opportunity to do so with us – extremely important for their schooling, as it's compulsory, and of course for their professional lives. In line with this, and supported by the Chamber of Labor, we are launching a new and major project for apprentices. You can find more information about it at www.digilehre.at .

We had to partially deviate from our principle of prioritizing families with school-age children, schools, and charitable NGOs for the refugees from Ukraine. Here you will find a photo album with selected pictures of people we were able to help. Album PCs für alle

All this without spending a single cent of tax money – quite the opposite, in fact.

How is that possible?

With the support of many people, of course. The "core" of the association works full-time almost every day – but unpaid.

We're provided with space at a very reasonable price, and the website was programmed and maintained free of charge. The transport team drives around Vienna almost daily, picking up equipment—in their free time and most of them after work. They create graphics, write copy, and write social media posts. A very important and laborious part of the work is performed by the people who coordinate the allocations and communicate with the equipment recipients.

There's a lot behind it, and without what is oddly called "civil society," it would be impossible. Why odd? Because, of course, we are all SOCIETY.

What we need and how you can help us

Employees – both for working on the PCs and for transport, office work, issuing devices and manning information stands.

Money – we often have to purchase parts (e.g., SSDs), pay for transport, and much more. Regular donations are the most helpful way for us to plan expenses properly. PCs für alle - Cash donations

Devices – including the minimum requirements PCs für alle - Donate devices

Know-how – marketing, craftsmanship, graphics, copywriting…

Thank you for your support and see you next year
