Collaboration for children in Ecuador: Support for children's homes in Olón

The Association PCs für alle has recently been working with "Abuelito”Heinz Cotutsca who has been supporting children's homes in Olón on the Pacific coast of Ecuador for many years.

Thanks to his tireless commitment, numerous improvements have been implemented there in recent years:

Installation of a water treatment system

Renewal of the roof

Construction of a children's playground

Construction of a garage and workshop

Now comes the next step: digital opportunities for children and young people. Together with Heinz Cotutsca, PCs für alle Computers and IT equipment are provided for the homes. Around 70 children and 30 staff members benefit from this—and a total of three homes are supported by this initiative.

With this collaboration, we are sending a clear message: education and digital participation must not be thwarted by geographical or financial barriers. We are delighted that our devices can help open up new learning opportunities and future prospects for children in Ecuador, and we thank "Abuelito" Heinz for this opportunity. Incidentally, the children there gave him the nickname "Abuelito" Heinz.
